COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Library invites the public to sample the delights of a gluten-free meal prepared by Chef James Harris at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29 at the main branch of the library, 30 Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
People who suffer from celiac disease cannot tolerate gluten, a protein in wheat, rye, and barley. Harris will demonstrate how to make a variety of delicious foods that people with celiac disease can enjoy. The menu will consist of gluten free pizzas, wraps and pasta dishes.
Harris of Harrah’s Resorts in Atlantic City was trained in the culinary arts at Johnson & Wales University. Harris has qualified as a GREAT Guide as part of National Foundation for Celiac Awareness’s Gluten-Free Resource Education and Awareness Training program. This qualification enables Harris to assist chefs and restaurants desiring to learn about gluten-free cooking – the right way.
Registration and a valid library card are required to attend. Registration can be done by calling (609) 463-6350 or online at www.cmclibrary.org.
