Learn ballroom dancing this summer

By On Deck Staff

Now is as good a time as any to take those ballroom dancing classes you’ve always promised yourself, because the Women’s Civic Club of Stone Harbor has planned some interesting and educational programs for visitors to Cape May County.
Beginning June 10 and each Wednesday evening for 10 weeks, ballroom dancing lessons will be held at the Civic Clubhouse, 96th St. and the beach, from 7-8:30 p.m. You do not need a partner.
Classes will be given by Ron Troy and Barbara Strong, professional dance instructors who have taught on cruise ships, in Florida and New Jersey.
Troy, a former Australian Champion of Champions, will be teaching Latin dances, fox trot, waltz, and others. If there is interest, a second class in intermediate dance will be held on Monday evenings at the Civic Club after his session in Avalon.
Call 609-368-2692 for prices and reservations.
On June 23 at 11:30 a.m. the Civic Club holds its annual Luncheon, Fashion Show and Card Party at the Golden Inn, 78th St. in Avalon, with fashions by Talk of the Walk, a Stone Harbor boutique.
Luncheon will be served and there will be many door prizes donated by local merchants. The fashions will be modeled by Civic Club members and their daughters.
Tickets are $20. If you are playing cards, please give the names of your playing partners so you can be seated together.
For reservation, call Chris at 609-368-8302, or Betty at 609-368-2836.
