Jersey Shore Pops seeking musicians

By On Deck Staff

Jersey Shore Pops is still seeking new musicians for its debut concert next summer in Cape May County.
The Jersey Shore Pops is a new orchestra founded by New Jersey entertainer and pianist Linda Gentille, who has performed over 1,000 concerts worldwide and currently performs in performing arts centers around the country with her Ragtime Orchestra.
She began her career as a teenager with the Liberace show and then went on to tour China for 10 years. She became the world record holder for more concerts in China than any other western artists.
Jersey Shore Pops will make its debut next year at the Middle Township Performing Arts Center Oct. 17.
The ensemble will be performing Broadway, light classics, pop rock hits, ragtime music, and big band. The group is seeking musicians that are versatile in their technique and are excellent chart readers.
The following musicians are still needed for the orchestra: trumpet, electric bass, alto sax, bass sax, tenor sax, flute players that also double on either sax or trumpet, trombone, cello, violin, percussion and upright bass.
Musicians interested in auditioning for the orchestra can send a resume and tape or CD to: Jersey Shore Pops, 88 Route 610, Petersburg, New Jersey, 08270.
Resumes or MP3 samples may also be e mailed to: linda@JerseyPopsOrchestra.org.
For more information about the orchestra or to sponsor a future concert by the Jersey Shore Pops contact 609-628 4544.
