Philadelphia is the birthplace of many great musicians, including one of the undisputed masters of the jazz piano—Kenny Barron.
Barron will perform as a part of the Monday Night Jazz & Blues Series at the Stockton Performing Arts Center, Oct. 26, at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are priced at $15 and may be ordered at www.stockton.edu/pac, or by calling the Box Office at 609-652-9000.
The Box Office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and an hour and a half before the performance. For Group Sales, call 609-652-4786.
Barron’s unmatched ability to mesmerize audiences with his elegant playing, sensitive melodies and infectious rhythms is what inspired The Los Angeles Times to name him “one of the top jazz pianists in the world,” and Jazz Weekly to call him “The most lyrical piano player of our time.”
He has earned nine Grammy nominations beginning in 1992 with “People Time,” an outstanding duet with Stan Getz followed by the Brazilian influenced “Sambao.”
His most recent nomination was “Firefall” in 2002. He also earned the honor of being selected as one of the Critics Choice Top Ten CDs of 2003’s by Jazziz Magazine.
The Stockton Performing Arts Center, the Jersey Shore’s Center for the Arts, is located on the campus of The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, on Jim Leeds Road in Pomona (Galloway Township).
Just 12 miles west of Atlantic City, the Center is easily accessible from the Garden State Parkway and the Atlantic City Expressway.
