This is the 15th year of the Mummers Brigade Weekend in North Wildwood.
The excitement kicks off June12 with the famous Mummers Pub Crawl, as members and friends visit all of North Wildwood’s most well known establishments.
The fun continues June 13 at 4:30 p.m. with the Mummers parade on 2nd and Olde New Jersey aves., featuring the top seven brigades from the New Year’s Day Parade in Philadelphia.
The brigades perform without the pressure of competition, and spectators can get an up-close view of the beautiful costumes and intricate dance steps.
Don’t be surprised if you are asked to join in the fun to learn the famous “mummers strut.”
Following the parade at 6:30 p.m. will be the Fancy Brigades “Old Fashion Family Block Party” as brigade members stroll and dance on Olde New Jersey Ave. Entertainment is provided until 8 p.m., and games and dance contests will be part of the 2009 Block Party.
