Dodge Foundation Supports Local Non-Profits

By Joe Hart

MORRISTOWN – Two Cape May arts groups have been named grant recipients from one of the state’s most generous philanthropic foundations.
Cape May Stage will receive $25,000 for general operating support of main stage and ancillary programming and the Center for Community Arts will receive $10,000 for general operating support of its community-based programming.
These were two of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation’s 220 annual grants to non-profit organizations throughout New Jersey and others serving the state. The grants totaled over $10 million.
“These grants represent 95% of our total grantmaking for 2009,” stated David Grant, Dodge’s president and CEO. “In recognition of these difficult financial times, the board and staff moved all of it grantmaking into the first six months of this year in order to assist our grantees with cash flow and budget projections.” Dodge’s grant making budget for 2009 is $10.5 million.
