CAPE MAY – Celebrate Memorial Day and help kick off the 24th Annual Cape May Music Festival during this year’s Cape May Music Festival Gala, presented by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC), on May 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the restored Joseph Hall Cottage, 645 Hughes St.
This year’s Gala hosts, Doug and Anna Marie McMain, owners of the Queen Victoria B&B, invite you to their lovingly restored home, the Joseph Hall Cottage, which was interpreted on canvas by the famous painter, Thomas Kincaid. The Gala will be catered by the Washington Inn and includes a wine tasting featuring local wines and craft beers along with “down home” hors d’oeuvres.
Admission is $50 per person (or complimentary to any donor at the $1,000 level or more to the Music Festival). For tickets call 609-884-5404 or 800-275-4278 ext. 115. Proceeds help support MAC’s flagship cultural offering, the Cape May Music Festival, which brings world-class orchestral, chamber music performances and a popular world traditions series to the city every spring.
The gala also kicks off the music festival’s online auction fund-raiser that opens the morning of May 26 and closes June 13 at 7 p.m. Online bidders go to Browse Auctions and click on New Jersey in the state pull down menu at www.BiddingForGood.com, where they can view items up for auction and place their bid between May 26 and June 13. Many valuable Cape May items are up for bid.
The 24th annual Cape May Music Festival is presented by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC) with funding by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and the Frank & Lydia Bergen Foundation.
