Careme’s Café Announces Up and Coming Performers

MAYS LANDING—The Careme’s Café Series at Atlantic Cape Community College will celebrate its 15th anniversary this spring, presenting three shows by award-winning and up-and-coming performers.
The series features a four-course gourmet dinner prepared by students in Atlantic Cape’s Academy of Culinary Arts, followed by a musical performance. Past artists have spanned a wide range of genres, including contemporary folk, blues, country and bluegrass.
Upcoming shows, all starting at 6:30 p.m. in Careme’s Restaurant, include:
• Thurs., March 10, Patty Blee, Atlantic County singer-songwriter.
Menu for the show includes:
Soup: creamed cauliflower with sweet onion confit, herbed croutons
Salad: roasted beet and pickled pear salad, mesclun, gorgonzola, champagne vinaigrette
Entrée (choose one): shrimp and scallop bouillabaisse with braised fennel and saffron broth; chicken saltimbocca with grainy mustard sauce; or creamy three-cheese and asparagus macaroni and cheese, braised cippolini. All entrees are served with chef’s choice of starch and vegetable.
Dessert: chef’s sampler trio
• Thursday, April 7, Adrien Reju. New York City raised singer-songwriter. the late Robert Hazard. Two songs from her solo release, “A Million Hearts,” were placed in the Hallmark movie “Flower Girl.”
• Thursday, May 5, the Alfred James Band. The only cellist in the world playing a black, five-string carbon fiber cello—standing up.
The evening begins with dinner, followed by a 45-minute performance. Artists sell and sign their works directly following the show. Tickets are $35 and reservations are required. For reservations, call 609-343-4907 or e-mail simmons@ atlantic.edu
