CAPE MAY – Cape May Stage is proud to announce a late night, raucous and witty presentation featuring our talented acting summer interns. Sure Thing is a collection of David Ives one-act plays spinning absurd tales of love, language, missed opportunities, music, Marxism, and monkeys. Directed by Eric Oleson and stage managed by Len Luvera, this comedic presentation will run Saturdays, July 9, 16, 23 at 10:30pm at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse on Bank and Lafayette Streets.
Described by Ben Brantley of The New York Times as a wild slice of cerebral vaudeville these utterly delightful one act plays make for one hilarious evening of theatre. Whether laughing at frustrated literary challenged monkeys in Words, Words, Words, or singing along to wacky Phillip Glass Buys a Loaf of Bread, audiences are sure to delight in these light-hearted, but nonetheless thought-provoking, short comedies. Featured in the cast are interns Sabrina Blackburn, Daniel Povinelli, Jodye Carroll, and Iraisa Ann Reilly.
Cape May Stage is currently presenting Theresa Rebecks backstage comedy, The Understudy Tuesdays through Sundays at 8PM through July 30. Part of Cape May Stages acclaimed Second Stage Series, Sure Thing will run Saturday evenings July 9, 16, 23 at 10:30pm at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse at the corner of Bank & Lafayette Streets in downtown Cape May. Says Cape May Stage Artistic Director Roy Steinberg, When you combine attractive, talented actors with smart, comic writing, you get the Cape May Stage Intern Late Night Show! It is the perfect way to start or end your Saturday night!
Tickets are $15. Call (609) 884-1341 for reservations and information or visit the theatres website, www.capemaystage.com.
