Swimming results for Jan. 3:
The Ocean City boys and girls swim teams won their respective meets over Absegami on Jan. 3. Nate Hays led the Raider boys with wins in the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke individual races along with team wins in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays. Ryann Styer, Claudia Scherbin and Emily Culmone posted individual and team wins for the Red Raider girls.
The girls have a 3-1 record while the boys have a 2-3 record on the season. Both teams will host Atlantic City on Jan. 9.
The Cape May Tech boys and girls swim teams fell to Oakcrest on Jan. 3. However, many Hawk swimmers made statement performances.
On the boys’ side, sophomore swimmer Jerry D’Antonio won the 100 breaststroke and the 200 medley relay team made a season best time. Freshman Roman Voinea improved his times in the 50 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke.
For the girls’ team, Lindsay Robbins led the way with two wins in the 50 and the 500 freestyle races. Savannah Bruno also had a win for the Hawks in the 200 freestyle race.
The boys are 4-2 while the girls are 2-2 on the season and will host Cedar Creek on Jan. 9.
In coed swimming, Lower Cape May fell to Holy Spirit on Jan. 3. Jack Perry won the 50 freestyle race for the Caper Tigers while the 200 freestyle relay team posted a win in the meet. They are still in search for the first win of the season and will return to action on Jan. 9 for a meet at Buena Regional.
