Lady Warriors Honored by Wildwood Commissioners

On Wednesday, March 13, the Wildwood Board of Commissioners honored the Wildwood High School Lady Warriors varsity basketball team for winning the South Jersey Group 1 championship. On Saturday, March 2, the Lady Warriors battled back from a 50-41 deficit to beat Woodstown, 54-53. Freshman Rebecca Benichou hit a 3-point shot with 2.1 seconds left in the game to secure the win. The commissioners presented all of the players with a certificate acknowledging their achievement and a fleece top announcing the win. Mayor Ernie Troiano Jr. told the audience the team represented the best in the community. Shown are the team members, coaches and commissioners.
