COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 15 indictments Oct. 7.
The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance. A “certain person” charge can be brought against individuals whose previous convictions bar them from having weapons.
Marilyn M. Glenn faces two second-degree counts, for knowingly leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and violation of a law intended to protect the public health.
Todd D. Corliss was indicted for third-degree witness tampering.
Sean P. Smyth was named in a single-count indictment for third-degree attempted witness tampering.
Michael Gibbs faces a four-count indictment, for second-degree possession of a CDS, cocaine, along with third-degree distribution and disbursement of a CDS and two fourth-degree counts, for obstruction of the administration of law and hindering apprehension.
Kyshon T. Weldon was indicted for second-degree sexual assault of a child under the age of 13, along with first-degree aggravated sexual assault over dates in 2018 and 2019. The indictment also contains two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Jimmy J. Schultz and Paul J. Volpe were jointly indicted on two second-degree counts, for unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes. Both counts related to a handgun. The two were also jointly named in two other counts, for possession of a prohibited weapon, hollow-point ammunition, in the third degree, and third-degree receiving stolen property, the same handgun. Volpe alone faces a final count for second-degree certain person, caused by his conviction for robbery in 2014.
Jermemias Tirado was indicted on two fourth-degree counts for criminal mischief and obstruction of the administration of law.
John B. Bersani faces a single-count indictment for third-degree resisting arrest.
Nelson E. Casanova-Candelaria was indicted on two third-degree counts, for possession and distribution of a CDS, heroin.
Tymir Lee, Shemar C. Hannibal and Kadeis Chevalier face a joint five-count indictment, with four third-degree counts for distribution of a CDS, distribution and possession of a CDS, and two counts of possession of a CDS. The two substances involved were MDMA, also known as ecstasy or molly, and Psilocin. The indictment’s final count was in the fourth degree, for possession with intent to distribute drug paraphernalia.
Prince J. Medas was indicted for unlawful possession of a weapon, a folding knife, in the third degree.
Kevin H. Heimers was named in a 16-count indictment, with a second-degree count of sexual assault of a victim under the age of 13, along with seven counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact and eight counts of endangering the welfare of a child in the third degree.
Frank L. Thomson was indicted for third-degree stalking.
Alejandro Leon faces two third-degree counts for resisting arrest and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
Lee N. Robinson was indicted on a single count of second-degree aggravated assault.
