COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 22 indictments May 6.
The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance. A “certain person” charge can be brought against individuals whose previous convictions bar them from having weapons.
Michael R. Wing was indicted for third-degree insurance fraud, third-degree theft and fourth-degree forgery. Insurance fraud took place over a period from June 2020 to December 2022 in Woodbine.
Lusy C. Morrero faces a single count of third-degree insurance fraud dating from August 2024 in Middle Township.
Montez H. Young-El was indicted for third-degree bail jumping for failure to show for a hearing related to a crime of possession of a fake government ID and uttering a forged instrument.
Kyle J. Williams was named in a 13-count indictment, with five counts of third-degree aggravated assault, three counts of third-degree making terroristic threats, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, three knives, in the third degree, unlawful possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, disarming a law enforcement officer in the second degree, third-degree resisting arrest, and certain person in the fourth degree. Williams was convicted of aggravated assault in 2021.
Anthony V. Bennis was indicted on two second-degree counts of aggravated assault and conspiracy with unindicted co-defendants.
Daniel J. Renye, Brian M. Thomas and William A. McGugan were separately and independently indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS. Renye (fentanyl) and Thomas (cocaine) face one count each. McGugan (cocaine, heroin, fentanyl and alprazolam) faces two counts.
Nicholas J. Leadbetter faces three counts for second-degree false public alarm, third-degree making terroristic threats and fourth-degree harassment while on parole.
Curtessa M. Franklin and Dennasha N. Ledo were indicted together for first-degree robbery and second-degree conspiracy to commit robbery. Franklin alone was named on two additional counts, for fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, a knife, and third-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose.
Christina N. Gwiazdowski and Patricia A. Gwiazdowski together face two fourth-degree counts for shoplifting and conspiracy.
Jorge M. Ramos was named in a four-count indictment for third-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, a Glock airsoft handgun, second-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, third-degree making terroristic threats and second-degree certain person. Ramos was convicted in 2022 for aggravated assault.
Steven L. Pastuck faces a four-count indictment, a second-degree count for possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, a Smith & Wesson 9mm gun, two third-degree counts, for hindering apprehension and making terrorist threats, and a fourth-degree aggravated assault.
Wanda Dworek-Cooley was indicted on three third-degree counts for possession of a CDS, cocaine, resisting arrest and aggravated assault.
Raymond A. Perrey faces a single count for second-degree eluding police in a motor vehicle.
Michael D. Elsey, Shawn E. Miller and Richard H. Plummer were named together in three fourth-degree counts, for criminal trespass, criminal mischief and conspiracy. Elsey alone was named in a fourth count, for fourth-degree contempt.
Mario C. Larocca was indicted on a single count of third-degree attempted burglary.
Araann D. Maldonado and Victoria Calaf were jointly indicted for shoplifting and conspiracy, both in the third degree.
Ibrahem J. Souley was named in a two-count indictment for aggravated assault and resisting arrest, both counts in the third degree.
Michael R. Hatcher faces three counts of third-degree failure to make lawful disposition.
Nicholas R. Robinson was indicted on four counts, two for unlawful possession of a weapon, a 9mm handgun, one count in the second degree and one in the third. He also faces two fourth-degree counts, for possession of a prohibited weapon, high-capacity magazines and hollow-point bullets.
Kayon E. Campos and Jason J. Hale jointly face a three-count indictment for third-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, an airsoft revolver, third-degree eluding police and fourth-degree obstructing the administration of law.
