COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 23 indictments on June 24.
The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.
Leaming B. Johnson was indicted on two counts of third-degree possession of a CDS, cocaine and buprenorphine.
Franklin Leigler faces a two-count indictment for endangering the welfare of a child, second degree, and animal cruelty, third degree.
Keith N. Hadfield, Javier A. Martinez-Ortiz and Devon Watson were jointly indicted on five counts for conspiracy, forgery, two counts, and theft and attempted theft, third degree. Martinez-Ortiz alone was named on a final count for possession of a CDS in the third degree, fentanyl.
Christopher Bush faces a count of second-degree burglary. The indictment does not state why a normally third-degree charge was increased to the second degree. Raising burglary to the second degree usually involves the presence of a weapon or assault on a person, neither of which was mentioned in the indictment.
Angel D. Washington was named in a two-count indictment for theft and conspiracy with an unknown person, both counts in the third degree.
Scott Rosell-Takayama was indicted on two third-degree counts for possession of a CDS, cocaine, and possession of a CDS with intent to distribute.
William R. Edwards faces a fourth-degree count for calling 911 without the need for 911 service.
John P. Tyrrell was indicted on two counts of fourth-degree obstructing the administration of law.
Christopher R. Blevins was indicted for disturbing and desecrating human remains in the second degree and hindering apprehension in the third degree. In May Blevins was indicted in Camden County for his girlfriend’s murder. Her body was found in a refrigerator in Belleplain State Forest in Dennis Township.
Jaquan Bartee was named in a three-count indictment that included a first-degree count for home invasion in West Wildwood. The other two counts were for aggravated assault, one in the second degree and one in the third degree.
Michael G. Bogue faces a third-degree count for witness tampering, along with a fourth-degree count for contempt for violating a restraining order.
Megan L. Gray and Charles C. Connor were named in an indictment with one count each of fourth-degree shoplifting.
Shaun Bruce was indicted on one count of third-degree aggravated assault.
Steven R. Dipeso t/a Coastal Rentals faces two counts of theft by failure to make required disposition, one in the second degree and the other in the third degree.
Julian Perez was indicted for third-degree aggravated assault and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Nathan Swan was indicted on a single count of third-degree bail jumping because he failed to appear for a hearing related to a charge of possession of a CDS.
William J. Spalletta was named in a three-count indictment for theft by deception and failure to make required disposition, both in the third degree, along with failure to follow the contractor registration act, a count in the fourth degree.
Karina M. Vargas, Queen Chaney Field and Tatiana Jimenez were named in an eight-count indictment, with all three named for first-degree burglary and two counts of conspiracy, with one count in the second and the other in the third degree. Field and Jimenez were individually named on separate third-degree counts of aggravated assault in the third degree and third-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, pepper spray. Vargas alone was listed on the final count for fourth-degree hindering apprehension.
Jelson R. Henriquez-Sanchez was indicted for receiving stolen property in the third degree.
Justin Lupton faces three third-degree counts, two for aggravated assault and one for resisting arrest.
Shavani A. Green was indicted for eluding police in the second degree.
Jose A. Angeles-Ayala faces a first-degree count of aggravated sexual assault on a victim below the age of 13. He also was named on two second-degree counts for sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Amber Henley was indicted for bail jumping in the fourth degree. Henley failed to show for a hearing on possession of a CDS in the third degree.
