COURT HOUSE — A Cape May County grand jury handed up 18 indictments on July 22.
The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance. A “certain person” charge can be brought against individuals whose previous convictions bar them from having weapons.
Anthony S. Cline was indicted for fourth-degree aggravated assault on a Sheriff’s Department officer in Middle Township.
Alon B. Rolls faces a single count of fourth-degree certain person for being in possession of a knife despite a 2015 Atlantic County conviction for robbery.
Tyler J. Wolf was named in a single-count indictment for unlawful taking of a means of conveyance, a 2008 Nissan Altima.
Kevin J. Ryan and Leaming B. Johnson were separately and independently indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS. The substances were cocaine (Ryan) and buprenorphine (Johnson).
Zhyana M. Young was indicted on two counts of aggravated assault, one in the third and one in the fourth degree.
Jorge E. Contreras faces two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Ronalda A. Shivers was indicted on a fourth-degree count of making false public alarm by calling 911 with no real need for 911 services.
Donavan A. Smith was named in a six-count indictment, four counts of third-degree possession of a CDS, along with two counts of aggravated assault, one in the second degree and one in the third degree. The controlled substances were fentanyl, cocaine, buprenorphine and clonazepam.
Manuel Hernandez-Castro faces a fourth-degree count of violation of community supervision. A 2006 conviction for endangering the welfare of a child led to the requirement that Hernandez-Castro could not reside with minors without the permission of his parole officer. He failed to observe the requirement.
Steven M. Gurnick was indicted on two third-degree counts for criminal mischief and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, a wrench.
Chris Council faces a second-degree count of burglary, along with a third-degree count of theft related to an incident in Middle Township.
Terrence H. McNeal faces a third-degree count of endangering the welfare of a child.
Christopher Diantonio was indicted on a fourth-degree certain person count for possession of a kitchen knife despite a previous conviction in Atlantic County for unlawful possession of a weapon.
Christian D. Matthews faces a fourth-degree count of criminal mischief related to an incident in Middle Township.
Travis T. Lynch was indicted for third-degree and fourth-degree bail jumping for failing to appear for a hearing on charges of aggravated assault and certain person.
Ronald S. Lindsay was named in a two-count indictment for possession of a prohibited weapon, a large-capacity magazine, and violation of safe-carry regulations, both counts in the fourth degree.
Randall K. Parsons faces a fourth-degree count of bail jumping for failure to appear on counts of possession of a CDS, possession of a prohibited weapon and certain person.
