Indictments Filed Aug. 19

Readers are reminded that all individuals listed below are presumed innocent unless proven guilty, and there may also be multiple individuals who share the same name, even in the same town.

COURT HOUSE — A Cape May County grand jury handed up 18 indictments Aug. 19. 

The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.   A “certain person” charge can be brought against individuals whose previous convictions bar them from having weapons. 

James M. Sheeley and Tayler Hutton were named in a six-count indictment that included four counts of third-degree possession of a CDS. Three counts named Sheeley for fentanyl, buprenorphine and tramadol, and one named Hutton for fentanyl. The remaining two fourth-degree counts named only Sheeley, for unlawful possession of a weapon, a knife, and certain person due to his 1992 conviction for aggravated assault.

Carlos A. Rivera faces a second-degree count for aggravated assault, along with a third-degree count for possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, a knife, and two fourth-degree counts for unlawful possession of a weapon and certain person. Rivera was convicted in 2014 of possession of a CDS.

Tabitha J. Gilbert was indicted for third-degree aggravated assault on a state trooper, along with fourth-degree obstruction.

John T. Loper faces a single count for making terroristic threats in the third degree.

Isaac Williams was indicted on one count of resisting arrest in the third degree, along with two fourth-degree counts, for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and obstructing the administration of law.

Todd D. Corliss was named in a two-count indictment, for second-degree aggravated assault and third-degree criminal restraint.

Axel J. Hernandez-Candelara was indicted on a single count of operating a motor vehicle during a second license suspension, a fourth-degree count.

Agustin J. Velez-Reyes faces a single count of unlicensed entry into a structure in the fourth degree.

James Welles was indicted on two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. In both counts, Welles is accused of sexual conduct that would debauch the morals of a child.

David M. Mitchell faces three third-degree counts, for possession of a CDS, amphetamine, burglary and theft.

Susan L. McGaughey, Natasha Oscario-Feliciano, Robert Sullivan and Tyler W. Lavin were all indicted separately for third-degree possession of a CDS. Respectively, the substances were methamphetamine, cocaine, methamphetamine and cocaine.

George M. Flanagan and Colleen Booth were jointly indicted on a shared count of third-degree possession of a CDS, cocaine.

Mike A. Hewitt faces a single count of third-degree theft.

Christopher Lillemon was indicted on two second-degree counts of aggravated assault in which the relationship to the victim fit the definition of domestic violence.

Dylan A. Buraczewski was indicted on a single count of fourth-degree resisting arrest.
