Readers are reminded that not only are all individuals listed below presumed innocent unless proven guilty, there may also be multiple individuals who share the same name, even in the same town.

COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up nine indictments April 30. 

The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.  

A “certain person” charge can be brought against individuals whose previous convictions bar them from having weapons. 

Russell W. Krieg was indicted on two counts of third-degree aggravated assault and one count of resisting arrest.

Marcus A. Knight faces a count of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact related to incidents in Middle Township on various dates from September 2023 to March 2024.

Dwanta Thomas, Derrick McManus and Lafayette Hughes-Wright were jointly named in every count of a 16-count indictment. Twelve of the 16 counts are in the first degree, one involving kidnapping and 11 involving aggravated sexual assault. The three also face second-degree counts for conspiracy and aggravated assault, along with two third-degree counts for endangering the welfare of a child and attempted sexual assault.

Christian A. Davis was indicted for second-degree criminal sexual contact, third-degree endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree cyber harassment.

Joseph S. Hegarty was named in a three-count indictment for third-degree possession of a CDS, methamphetamine, fourth-degree possession of a prohibited weapon, a switchblade, and fourth-degree certain person, due to a California conviction for burglary in 2020.

Michael Jacobus was indicted on a single count of third-degree possession of a CDS, cocaine.

Cheryl Adegbola was indicted on a single count of third-degree shoplifting in Middle Township.

Manbir S. Singh faces a five-count indictment with two counts of fourth-degree aggravated assault, fourth-degree contempt, fourth-degree criminal mischief and third-degree burglary.

Eddie D. Allen was named in a two-count indictment for second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and third-degree aggravated assault.
