HANDVILLE, CAROL ANN

HANDVILLE, CAROL ANN
Carol Ann Handville (née Melesky) of Cape May, NJ, entered her eternal rest on November 22, 2024, at the age of 73. She was born on March 23, 1951, in Newark, NJ, and was raised in Lake Hiawatha. She graduated from Morris Catholic High School in 1969 and earned her BA in English from Rutgers University in 1973. After getting married in 1980, she moved to her favorite place, the Jersey Shore, where she lived a happy life raising three daughters, taking long beach walks, knitting, reading, cooking, doting on her grandchildren and embarking on lots of creative endeavors. She loved to travel with her husband and best friend Ed, and her beloved beagles. But there was no place like home.
A life dedicated to loving and nurturing children, Carol left a legacy on future generations as a mother, a daycare provider, and a kindergarten through second grade teacher at St. Raymond Regional School, Our Lady Star of the Sea School, and Cape Trinity Catholic.
Her passion for teaching and her commitment to her students left a lasting impact on the communities she served and helped shape hundreds of young lives.
Carol is survived by her devoted husband, Ed Handville; her three daughters, Kristin Shep-
pard (Chris), Lisa Borchardt (Scott), and Kate Mollo (Joe); and her cherished grandchildren, Violet, Paris, Julia, Sammy, and Miles; her sister Marie Wright, and many beloved extended family members and friends. Her family brought her immense joy and were a source of pride throughout her life.
Carol will be remembered for her unwavering kindness and generosity. Her dedication to others will serve to inspire those closest to her to live selflessly and with boundless love. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
A service in honor of Carol will be held on Wednesday January 8, 2025, at the Parish of St. John Neumann (St. Raymond Church), 25 E Ocean Ave, Villas, NJ. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., with a funeral mass to follow at 11:00 a.m.
