ATLANTIC CITY – A man who fled from a vehicle crash was later arrested and found in possession of a handgun that had been stolen in Wildwood, police said.

Joey Osias, 25, of Egg Harbor Township, was arrested after patrol officers responded to Route 30 and Grammercy Avenue on a report of a motor vehicle crash on Sept. 22 at 7:50 p.m. Officer Zayon Pitts arrived to learn that two occupants in one of the vehicles had fled the scene on foot.

Pitts located the passenger, Osias, several blocks from the crash scene. Osias was found to have an active warrant for his arrest and was placed in custody. He was also found to be in possession of a handgun that had been reported stolen in Wildwood and prescription medication.

The driver, Cimeron Oglesby, was also located. He was issued traffic summonses for careless driving and failure to report an accident. There were no reported injuries, and both vehicles were towed.

Osias was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow-point ammunition, possession of a high-capacity magazine, receiving stolen property and possession of controlled dangerous substance. He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
