GRAUBART,
EDWARD WILLIAM
Edward William Graubart, 84, beloved husband of Barbara (Rook) and cherished father of Edward A. Graubart and Tracee A. Danner, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025. Ed was born in Camden, New Jersey on April 20, 1941, to Edward Louis and Mary R.R. (Stumm) Graubart. After graduating from Gloucester Catholic High School in 1959, Ed enlisted in the United States Air Force. While stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, he met his lifelong love, Barbara. They were married in 1964, beginning their journey together in New Jersey before heading west to Montana, Washington, and their beloved Colorado. Ed and his family returned to New Jersey in 1981, making Cape May Court House their home and, at the same time, establishing their business, Windrift Kennel. Ed and Barbara just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.
Ed was a passionate man who deeply valued the simple daily pleasures of life: a good song, book, movie, or meal; a funny joke or interesting anecdote; a road trip to a favorite destination; and most of all time with family, friends, and his pets (which, over the years included countless dogs and cats, horses, rabbits, fish, a goat, and even a goose). Ed was a loyal and true friend and as a result, had a cherished circle of loyal and true friends. Above all, Ed loved his family, and their happiness was his top priority throughout his life and in his final days. His generous spirit never left him even as he endured the many pains of aging. He will be greatly missed by so many.
Ed is survived by his wife Barbara; his son Ed and wife Paula and their children Katerina, Ethan, and Preston; and his daughter Tracee and husband John and their children John, Abigail, and Jude. In lieu of a traditional service, a gathering of family and friends will be held at a future date to honor Ed's memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cape May County Animal Shelter, 110 Shelter Road, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210, or to AtlantiCare Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
