Stowaways, a multi-concept dining destination with panoramic views of the Delaware Bay at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal, is redefining hospitality with new menu offerings, enhanced guest services, weekly events, and a commitment to community engagement through a management team led by Cape May natives.

Last month, Stowaways reopened its doors for the season, unveiling a completely revamped menu that continues to delight with high-quality local ingredients and innovative flavors. Embracing a scratch-made kitchen, Stowaways features fresh seafood, locally sourced produce, and handcrafted creations that celebrate the essence of Cape May.

Leading the way are Cape May native Marisa Peragine, General Manager of Tourism and Hospitality, and Executive Chef Joseph Grugan, who are committed to showcasing the best of Cape May through culinary excellence and fostering strong community connections.

“I am thrilled to bring the culinary skills and experiences I’ve gained in the tourism and hospitality industry to Cape May,” said Grugan. “Collaborating with the talented team at Stowaways to craft dishes that not only showcase our exceptional local ingredients but also honor the rich culinary heritage of this community is a true privilege.”

Some of the new menu staples will include Stowaways Bay Bread, a unique twist on beach bread baked with garlic butter, cheddar, mozzarella, blue cheese, diced tomatoes, and balsamic drizzle; local seafood like Cape May Salts oysters; Creamy Cheese Crab Dip; and French Dip Egg Rolls, to name a few. The beverage menu has also expanded to feature local craft brews and an enhanced “Crush Bar” – still featuring the famous Orange Crush.

In addition to the culinary changes, Stowaways will now offer traditional table service, moving away from QR codes in favor of personal interactions with servers and bartenders. With an expanded staff, Stowaways is ready to welcome both locals and tourists, offering stunning waterfront views, warm hospitality, and memorable events.

Guests can look forward to a full calendar of events starting in May, featuring live music and entertainment with weekly performances by local and regional artists, themed nights celebrating music and culture from different eras, weekly bingo, and happy hour specials.

Stowaways offers three primary food and beverage locations within the terminal building at 1200 Lincoln Boulevard:

  • Stowaways Bar & Restaurant
  • Stowaways Café
  • The Overlook at Stowaways, a dedicated catering space for private events and functions

Additionally, the Outdoor Bay Bar, a waterfront bar experience next to the Cape May-Lewes Ferry dock, will reopen seven days a week as the weather warms up. The new management team’s local ties to Cape May will help strengthen connections with the community through charitable initiatives and local partnerships.

“As Stowaways enters this new season, we’re bringing our passion for hospitality to the community with exciting new offerings and events,” said Peragine. “As a Cape May native, I am thrilled to be part of this journey and make a positive impact on the community. We aim to create a welcoming atmosphere where guests can hang out, spend time with friends and family, and enjoy great eats at an amazing waterfront location.”
