AVALON – In mid-2024, Jim Craft retired as the borough’s chief financial officer. A little over a year later, Craft is again aiding the borough he served for 26 years.
At its July 9 meeting, the Borough Council approved Craft’s serving as interim part-time qualified purchasing agent after the retirement of Joe Clark left a vacuum at a position critical under state statutes but only used on an as-needed basis in a town like Avalon.
Craft provides Avalon with an experienced individual who knows the borough well, understands its needs and comes already having the confidence of its leadership.
His ongoing relationship with Avalon also involves his volunteering to serve on the Avalon Free Public Library Board of Trustees, where he is the organization’s treasurer.
