Blaze Hits Garage, Vehicles in Woodbine

WOODBINE – Borough firefighters were dispatched to the 300 block of Monroe Avenue on Tuesday, March 25, on a report of a structure fire.

When a Woodbine fire lieutenant arrived at the scene he reported that a detached garage and several vehicles were on fire, according to the Facebook page of Dennis Fire, which was called in to assist at about 12:35 p.m.

A Dennis engine crew arrived a short time later and stretched several hose lines to begin fire suppression.

No other details about the fire were immediately available. The blaze is under investigation by the Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office.

In addition to crews from Woodbine and Dennis, Ocean View Fire, Belleplain Fire, Goshen Fire, Tuckahoe Fire, Marmora Fire, Inspira EMS, Upper Township EMS and the State Police were also on scene. Stone Harbor Volunteer Fire Company provided coverage for the Dennis district.
