DONAHUE, HARRY J.
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Harry J. Donahue, a legendary voice of Philadelphia broadcasting and sports. Harry died peacefully on October 29, 2025, at the age of 77, following a courageous battle with cancer.
For more than four decades, Harry's warm, trustworthy voice guided generations of Philadelphians through their mornings. He joined KYW Newsradio in 1974 as a freelance reporter and became a morning anchor in 1979 a post he held for 35 years. Whether announcing traffic on the twos, school closings, or breaking news, Harry's steady presence was a source of comfort and trust across the region.
Harry is survived by his beloved wife, Lynda; their sons Brian (Becky), Tim (Gina), and Adam (Dana); his brother Joe (Helen); and grandchildren Libby, Jack, Maddy, Brian, Ryan, Natalie, Charlie, Leon, and Sonny, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Harry's family will receive condolences on Sunday November 9, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 611 Knowles Avenue, Southampton PA 18966 and again on Monday November 10th, from 10:00 am until his Funeral Mass at 12:00 pm. Interment will be private.
