Happy Fall Friends! I know it has been a little while since we were last together. I hope you have all been enjoying the slow cooling of the weather. The transition from summer into fall has always been a little bitter sweet. The cool air in the evenings finally gives us all some relief as a wonderful breath of fresh air. However, the chaos of school and other responsibilities starting back up can make it hard to stop and remember the simple joys. A few Saturdays ago, I had one of those magical post season days that reminded us all of why we love “Locals Summer” so much.
It was an absolutely beautiful afternoon, so I decided to take a drive over to Tuckahoe Inn. Now, I know this isn’t anything new, but it had been a little while since I had been out there. First of all, I was blown away by all the work they have been doing out there. We have always known that the back bays around the area are beautiful, but this was breathtaking. I had no idea they had such a large outdoor dining area now. That was a pleasant surprise.

I decided to sit at the bar so that I could watch the Phillies’ game and look out over the water at the same time. I was able to watch a few couples behind me playing the over- sized yard games and corn hole. The outdoor menu was great; it had a little something for everyone. Nothing overly done, just really well superb munchies. I ordered their margarita pizza and some chicken tenders with homemade house potato chips. The food was great and came out hot and quickly. As the sun was starting to set, I was able to catch a beautiful sunset over the bay and marsh. If you can’t tell by now I am sort of a sucker for those simple things. https://tuckahoeinn.com/
After dinner, I decided I wasn’t quite ready to head home yet. I stopped over at The Yard, we’ve talked about this one already. I am so glad I decided to make the stop. I know I told you to check out their list of upcoming live music. This is what I was talking about, not knowing who was playing over there, I was in for the best surprise. I got there and sat down in one of the Adirondack chairs and shortly after that the LOST SAILORS came on to start their set. Wow, these guys sure know how to have a good time. I am a huge Jam band fan. I love the Grateful Dead and Phish. I have been to a lot of places doing your average covers of all of the most popular songs from over the years.
The LOST SAILORS had so much energy and vibrancy to the way they played the songs. I mean if I had closed my eyes and just listened, I could have been listening to the actual Grateful Dead. It was unbelievable. I had only intended to stay for a little while. I ended up staying for the entire show! I don’t believe that I am the only one either. They had the crowd swaying and dancing the night away with me! If you see these guys coming anywhere near you, I highly recommend you make the trip out. I know I will! Until next time friends! https://lostsailorsband.com/home
