Hello again, my friends. We’re easing into the lazy late summer, aren’t we?

The Yard is a hot new music spot at the famous Yesterday’s Creekside Tavern.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve had a very busy few weeks. Between all the different parties and events around town, it’s been a wild ride. I haven’t been able to adventure as much as I normally would.

That being said, I thought I’d use this as an opportunity to tell you about one of my favorite places close to home. It’s an old favorite to those who have lived here or vacationed here for years: Yesterday’s Creekside Tavern.

Located just off Exit 25 on the Parkway, it’s tucked into the marshland off Ocean City. This local watering hole has long been a community staple. What you may not know is that it’s under new management and recently underwent a beautiful remodel.

Inside, it still features breathtaking high ceilings and a stunning bar area with high-top tables. Along the side of the room, there’s the inviting dining room, perfect for lunch or dinner with family.

But outside along the side of the building, there’s something new — The Yard. This has been my favorite addition to watch grow. Over the past couple of years, it has become a special gem, boasting an outdoor stage with an Adirondack chair seating area and bar. Behind that is a full outdoor dining space.

I love coming here all summer because you can’t be disappointed. The menu offers a wide range of elevated bar food. I love the Creek Fries as a snack or appetizer. If I’m going all out, I’ll follow that with chicken and waffles for dinner.

That’s not all — they have entertainment every weekend. It’s a great place to catch many of the musicians I’ve written about before.

I didn’t want to leave you hanging, so I checked the upcoming music schedule. If I may, here are a couple of suggestions:

On Aug. 16, Plaid Salmon will take the stage. I’ve seen them several times at different venues. They’re full of energy and cover a wide variety of great songs from over the years.

Plaid Salmon is a pop rock, funk, soul & jazz cover band from the Jersey Shore. Yep, they bring the brass.

And on Aug. 23, Dead Reckoning will perform at The Yard. I see these guys every chance I get.

The bottom line: You can’t go wrong at Yesterday’s Creekside Tavern. You’ll have a good time, and you’ll have good music as the soundtrack to your night. Trust me.
