WILDWOOD CREST – A borough resident has been arrested and charged in connection with a number of sexual assaults, authorities said.

Michael J. Lupacckino was arrested after a joint investigation by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office’s Special Victims Unit and Wildwood Crest Police Department’s Detective Division.

Prosecutor Jeff Sutherland and Wildwood Crest Police Chief Robert Lloyd said that on March 17 the Police Department received information about Lupacckino’s alleged involvement in multiple incidents of sexual assault that began in October 2024.

A joint investigation was launched, and included statements from witnesses, collection of forensic evidence and the execution of search warrants at Lupacckino’s residence.

He was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault and two counts of third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

Lupacckino was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center pending further legal proceedings.

Sutherland said the investigation is ongoing, and police believe there may be additional victims.
