William Ris Gallery presents Cape May County artists

On Aug. 15 the work of four talented and diverse Cape May County artists will be presented at the William Ris Gallery, 9400 Second Ave., Stone Harbor, from 7-9 p.m.
Lance Balderson will present his newest works in acrylics. Balderson’s work has been recently added to the permanent collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It hangs in the contemporary artists gallery of the museum.
Ocean City artist Shirley Hawthorne will show some of her newest pastels at the opening. Her body of work includes Best of Show piece “Stone Harbor Boulevard At Dusk” from the recent Avalon Art Show.
MJ Soens, another recognized community artist, advocate, and avid Brendan Borak fundraiser, will have her watercolors on display.
The fourth artist is Stone Harbor resident Anna Jacob, whose collection of photographs is titled “On Glass.” Jacob is a graduate of Richard Stockton College; her photographs recently won an award from the Atlantic City Art Center.
This collection of work by the four artists will be hanging through Aug. 27 when the Gallery will present new works from Elissa Prystauk and Dino Sistilli.
In September, the Gallery will exhibit works by the Richard Stockton College Visual Arts Faculty. This show premieres on Saturday, Sept. 19, with a reception from 7-10 p.m.
The Stockton artists areAlfonso Corpus, Jed Morfit, Margaret McCann, Michael McGarvey, Kate Ogden, Hannah Ueno andWendel White.
The Gallery and faculty are joining together to make a donation to The Friends of the Art Gallery of Stockton College.
All events at the William Ris Gallery are free and open to the public.
