Wildwood Fire Department Donates AEDs

AED

By Press Release

WILDWOOD – The Wildwood City Fire Department donated two AED’s to two local organizations: The Greater Wildwood Little League and the Wildwood Gables Yacht Club.
With the support of Commissioner Leonetti the Wildwood City Fire Department replaced all of our in-service AED (Automated External Defibrillator) units.  This left two AED’s that could no longer be in-service for our needs but had plenty of service life left in them for the public to use.  This proactive approach has allowed the AED’s to be in-service for years to come around the island in public places.
The Wildwood City Fire Department takes great pride in the community and has always had a great representation by our firefighters on various volunteer organizations.
It was while serving as the safety officer for the Greater Wildwood Little League that Firefighter William Cripps recognized the need for an AED at the little league field.  By placing an AED in immediate access to the public at the field will save valuable time during an emergency.  President Rich Hans thanked Commissioner Leonetti and the Wildwood City Fire Department for their donation and thanked Firefighter Cripps for his hard work as a volunteer on the little league board.
Representatives for the Greater Wildwood Yacht Club also thanked Commissioner Leonetti and the Wildwood City Fire Department for their donation as well.  Rear Commodore Fred Mettler stated “being located on Sunset Lake the club is busy throughout the summer and having this life saving technology on hand will certainly make a huge difference in an emergency”.
