The Needle and Thread 4-H Club

Samantha Downes and Nora Conover from the Needle and Thread 4-H Club with the donation box created to collect toys for the children at the hospital.

By

The Needle and Thread 4-H Club for 2015-16 had another great year. The members not only improved their sewing skills, but also their life skills. They once again partnered with Sharon Caldwell of ConKerr to make pillow cases for cancer. These pillow cases are handed out to patients in hospitals and treatment centers to brighten up their stay.
Besides the pillow cases, our club made table runners for Christmas, tote bags and pajama bottoms, and a few kids even made dresses to wear to school functions.
Our club also helped a fellow 4-H member with her project of collecting toys and other items for children receiving treatment at a children’s hospital. They made a box to help collect the items and spread the word that she needed help. If you’d like to help, the donation box is in the 4-H office. Items being collected include crayons, paper, travel games, books and anything that will help the children pass time while they have treatment.
In all, our members had a good time while learning and helping others.
