WILDWOOD- A procession of firetrucks, cars and a bus load of the Wildwood High Girls basketball team paraded up and down the island after defeating Salem to win the South Jersey Championship Game.
The parade began at the high school and traveled south down New Jersey Avenue, north up Atlantic Avenue into North Wildwood, back south down New Jersey avenue to 26th street, then south down Pacific Avenue to arrive back at the high school.
Many residents emerged to show their support, as the team beat Salem 47-38 at Southern Regional High School in Manahawkin.
At the other South Jersey championship game, Ocean City beat Lower Cape May, 58-39.
Both teams move on to play in state semifinal games Wednesday night at Deptford High School.
