Young Writers Recognized at Crest Memorial School

By Press Release

WILDWOOD CREST — Crest Memorial School students who produced outstanding compositions in Nov. and Dec. were recently honored at the school and rewarded with a pizza lunch and having their work displayed on the school principal’s bullet board.
Known as “Principal’s Corner,” the bulletin board in the lobby by the main office showcases outstanding young authors in grades 3 through 8. Teachers submit the best writing by students and the selected essays and projects are posted. During the lunch, excerpts from the students’ work were read and discussed.
The Principal’s Corner bulletin board is a way for the school to highlight student academic achievement and encourage students to write more, according to Guevara.
The students are also given a certificate, which states that the selected student has “a gift for writing that transcends mere words and reaches instead into the language of the spirit.”
Students whose work is featured on the bulletin board for the next month are: third-graders Sean Wood, Brenna Farrell, Matthew Sgrignioli, and Aaliyah Goolsby; fourth-graders Eddie Lord, Emma Cleffi, Luke Masterson, and Jackson Hesley; fifth-graders Mia Muratore, Noah Pruszinski, April Garcia, and Ave Bartosic; sixth-graders Nikolas Finocchiaro, Conner Heym, Malin Marius, Danny Collins, Grace Stuart, Corlen Vallese, and Alexa Lord; seventh-graders Erick Feria, Morgan McGough, Ava Vandepol, Tyler Tomlin, Daniel Frame, and Christina Adams; eighth-graders Genevieve Heym, Maddie Mahon, and Mitchell Garrabrant.
