Bishop McHugh
A mass of celebration was held for Monsignor William Quinn at Bishop Regional Catholic School Dec. 8 commemorating his retirement after 50 years in the Catholic ministry. Quinn has been with St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in Stone Harbor for the past 10 years which is a sending parish for the Catholic school. The students presented him with cards of congratulations and sang songs of his native country of Ireland.
Crest Memorial
Crest Memorial School students in grades three through eight who have produced exemplary written work during the months of November and December were recently rewarded with a pizza party and prominent display of their compositions.
The Principal’s Corner was originated by Crest Memorial Principal, Ann-Maria Guevara, an educator who strives to improve student writing skills through encouragement and example.
Not only is the work of the young writers exhibited in the main entrance to the school, but they are also treated to a pizza lunch with Guevara. During the lunch, students discuss their essays with the principal.
Those achieving Principal’s Corner received a certificate commending them for their writing excellence.

3rd grade: Obed Pelaez, William Gloede

Lower Township
Jane Koury’s Kindergarten class at David C. Douglass Veterans Memorial School in Lower Township enjoyed a Christmas train display by the Just-For-Fun RR Line.
Margaret Mace
“Aye Matey!! Did you know that Pirates are favorite subjects among fourth grade students at Margaret Mace?” After reading the book, “How I became a Pirate” by Miranda Long, Ms. Sharon Savarese’s lunch bunch students created a delicious treat and uncovered a hidden treasure! The main character in the book, Jeremy Jacob, realized that he didn’t want to be a pirate after all. He would rather go to soccer practice than lower the sails.
Lunch Bunch is a Friday favorite where students share a meal and get the opportunity to practice their social skills.
