The 2015-16 Early Tour of Bishop McHugh is designed to introduce prospective families to the state-of-the-art building and curriculum. The Little Storm Preschool has specially designed classes for infants through age 4. PreK classes provide a nurturing learning environment for children ages three and four. The curriculum includes 21st Century technologies with SmartBoards and iPad minis, Spanish, art, music, movement, physical education and social play. The Transitional Three class is for children who are not yet 3 years old or who are not potty trained. There also is a Toddler program for students younger than 24 months. Parents may choose between two, three and five day programs running half or full days. After care also is available.
Students’ families also are invited to participate throughout the year. Family programs include an ice cream social, family fun night, laps for learning, movie nights, pep rallies, monthly liturgies, Halloween tailgate party, breakfast with Santa, casino night, fashion show, golf outing, mother’s prayer group, and numerous student performances. Cape May City Elementary
International students from China who attend Wildwood Catholic High School visited the 5th and 6th graders at Cape May City Elementary School on October 27. The fifth grade students are reading, ‘In the Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson’ and were discussing differences in cultures. Ms. Diane Corkery and her son, Daniel, accompanied students and served as interpreters.
Lower Cape May Regional High School
On October 22, Sra. Adams’ Spanish Conversation and Composition Class attended Dr. Javier Sanchez’s Oral and Written Expression in Spanish class at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. The students were able to participate in a class taught completely in Spanish. The purpose of this project is to expose students to the college learning environment. Students also have an opportunity to see the rest of the campus and interact with students and staff over lunch. This project falls in line with Lower Cape May Regional’s initiative to provide meaningful college and career experiences for all students. Mrs. Adams plans a second trip during the spring semester.
