COURT HOUSE – All rise. The winner for the Cape May County Mock Trial Competition was Middle Township High School. The final event was held Jan. 21 in Cape May County Superior Court.
The Middle Township team was led by teacher-coach Martina Trapani and attorney-coach Howard Trout.
The team will next compete in the Southern Regional finals against Ocean County Feb. 4 in a single elimination match.
Ultimately, six teams of regional finalists from Central, South, and North Jersey will compete for a State Championship, stated Brett Yore, Mock Trial coordinator.
The annual event, sponsored by the Cape May County Bar Association, was held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning Jan. 5.
Participating schools were: Cape May County Technical, Lower Cape May Regional and Wildwood Catholic.
