Cape Tech Students Compete at NJ SkillsUSA Competition

COURT HOUSE – On April 24, forty-five students from Cape Tech attended the 2013 NJ SkillsUSA Championship held at the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset County and the Somerset County Technical School in Bridgewater, NJ. More than 1600 students competed in over 90 real-world skill and leadership contests.
Students include: Audio/Radio Production – 1st Place- Austin DiCola and Patrick Haigh; Advertising Design – 2nd Place – Matt Powers; Career Pathways Showcase: Law & Public Safety – 1st Place – Farah Almadani, Joslyn Nelson, Chris Russ; Crime Scene Investigation – 3rd Place – Jeanette Champion, Harry Wozunk, Brian DeVico; Extemporaneous Speaking – 2nd Place – Mickayla RItzler; Quiz Bowl – 2nd Place – Mike Hawthorne, Josh Greenberg, Liam Munz, Sean Popovick, Connor Kelly and alternates Hannah Dietrich, Stephanie Miller; SkillsUSA Safety Display – 2nd place – Christina Gibboney; Wedding Cake Decorating – 2nd place – Elizabeth Farmer, Laura McKeon; Esthetics 2nd Place – Post-secondary Division – Elizabeth Hayoun, Model Juliette King. Ms. Nancy Fissel is the advisor.
