Fotios Tsarouhis, a Communication Arts Technology junior at Cape Tech, has won the grand prize in a video competition sponsored by the A&E network and The History Channel.
Participants had to create a short film, three minutes or less, about Abraham Lincoln’s life, political career and/or legacy. Entry criteria included creativity, relevance to theme, narrative clarity and structure, and visual presentation.
“Fotios is dedicated to analyzing political environments and has the added ability to communicate effectively through various media,” his teacher, Nancy Wheeler Driscoll noted.
He is an active member of the school’s award-winning Academic Competition Team and has volunteered in campaigns during recent elections. An editorial he wrote while working on campaign endorsements was published in a New England newspaper.
Tsarouhis was the only grand prize winner in the high school category and was awarded a $1,000 grant and a trip to Washington D.C.
