MAYS LANDING – Dr. Barbara Gaba, president, Atlantic Cape Community College has been invited to serve as a member of The New Jersey Higher Education Restart Advisory Group. This advisory group will bring together higher education leaders and stakeholders from across the state to provide input on considerations specific to higher education that New Jersey should take into account as colleges and universities move forward with restart and recovery plans.
According to a release, members of the advisory group will serve as a representative of the institutions and students within their higher education sector, direct the state’s attention to challenges specific to higher education that may impact restarting operations, and provide input into the unique aspects of higher education that must be considered as the state develops plans to safely restart our economy.
The Higher Education Restart Advisory Group is led by the New Jersey Office of the Secretary of Higher Education (OSHE), helmed by Dr. Zakiya Smith Ellis. As per guidance from OSHE, “the operating status of an institution will be guided by state orders that will be informed by the continuous monitoring of health data, the implementation of the recovery plan, and any corresponding guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all New Jersey residents, including students, staff, faculty and leadership.”
