ACCC Foundation Board Names New Members, Elects Officers

The Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation Board elected officers, added new members and reappointed others at its annual meeting April 17.
The board elected Charlie Pessagno of Galloway Township and Cape May, former vice president, to succeed retiring president Lynda Pagliughi. Pessagno is President of NIA Group Associates, LLC.
Other officers named are Diane McKoy of Mays Landing, a retired CPA who is chair of the Restaurant Gala, as first vice president; Nick Cashan III of Hammonton, area president of Arthur J. Gallagher RMS Inc., as second vice president; Ken Calemmo Jr. of Sea Isle City, COO of the Cooper Levenson law firm, as third vice president; Dennis Stacy of Northfield, a financial advisor, as treasurer; and Stephen Nehmad Esq. of Egg Harbor Township, partner in the law firm Nehmad, Perillo & Davis, as secretary. These officers will serve a two-year term from July 1, 2008, to June 30, 2010.
Also elected were two new at-large members: Diane Donio of Hammonton, an ACCC alumna who has dedicated herself to professional volunteerism, and R. Scott Barber of Atlantic City, senior vice president and general manager of Harrah’s Atlantic City.
Seven other at-large members were also re-elected to new terms: Frank Forde of Absecon, a retired professional whose avocation is as a high school sports official; Gregory M. Matuson of Egg Harbor Township, senior vice president and chief financial officer/treasurer of Sturdy Savings Bank; Matthew Buesing of Cape May Court House, principal consultant in Buesing & Associates; Dr. Albert A. Monillas of Cape May, superintendent of the Camden County Technical Schools and former board of trustees member; Robert E. Mullock of Erma, owner and president of Cape May National Golf Club; Timothy Rundall of Egg Harbor Township, director of gas supply at South Jersey Industries; and Karen Brundage-Johnson of Egg Harbor Township, director of talent relations management at The Borgata.
In an additional appointment, Will Morey, president and CEO of The Morey Organization, Inc. filled a vacancy. Morey of Wildwood Crest will serve a term on the Foundation board until 2010.
The Foundation is focused on raising funds for college scholarships, academic programs and enhancing the campus environment. It pledged $219,000 for 2008-2009 scholarships, $15,000 for the Beacons by The Sea Visiting Faculty program, and $177,000 for the college capital campaign.
Founded in 1978 as an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation is dedicated to serving the mission of ACCC by providing financial support to the college and its students.
Foundation funds provide college scholarships to students with financial need, capital for campus improvements, and cultural and educational programs.
