David Meece, a world-renowned Christian music legend, will be in concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Erma, Lower Township. David is the composer of modern-day classics such as “We are the Reason” and “My Father’s Chair.” He began touring as a concert pianist at age 10 and composed the Christmas classic “One Small Child” at 14.
Meece is a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore. After surrendering his life to Jesus Christ, his goals changed from becoming a classical pianist to writing and singing songs about his relationship with his Lord. David’s musical tastes range from classical to pop, with fans ranging in age from pre-teens to senior adults. His albums have sold millions of copies worldwide.
David grew up in a house dominated by an abusive, alcoholic father, crippling his self-worth and confidence. When his father passed away at the height of David’s career, deep unresolved hurts came to the surface. David’s courage to transparently share his powerful testimony of how he forgave his father has led countless souls to receive healing in their own lives.
David has received many awards over the years, including being inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame in 2008 and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Artists Music Guild in 2012. He says, “Obeying God is where it’s at. I am convinced that there has been a tremendous urgency placed upon my life by the Holy Spirit to get the Gospel out to as many people as possible. I’m convinced Jesus is coming back very soon.”
Tabernacle UMC (“Erma Tabernacle”) is honored to host David Meece for this FREE event. Merchandise will be available at the concert and a “love offering” will be taken to help David continue his life-changing ministry. The church is located at 702 Seashore Rd., Cape May (1 mile south of the Seashore/Breakwater Rd intersection).
