St. Barnabas Cares Thrift Store Opens

Rear

By Johanna Hovik

VILLAS – St. Barnabas Church celebrated the grand opening of its thrift store St. Barnabas Cares Thrift Store Oct. 31 at the corner of Matthews Avenue and Bayshore Road, Villas.
The 100 percent volunteer driven thrift store coincides with the congregation’s food pantry program that helps provide for those in need.
With the success of the food pantry and the need for clothing growing, the church sprang into action and the St. Barnabas Cares Thrift Store opened its doors.
The thrift store houses clothing and accessories and is donation-based and driven. Clothing and accessories for women, children and men can all be found with the majority of items under $5 and nothing exceeding $10.
Gift certificates are also given to those in need, applications are available at the St. Barnabas Food Pantry. Clothing (and accessory) donations are greatly appreciated and can be dropped off any time during the thrift shop’s hours: Tuesday: 4-8 p.m.; Wed: 10-2 p.m.; Thurs: 10-2 p.m.; Fri: 10-2 p.m. and Sat: 10-2 p.m.
