Paper Recycling Bins Now Available to Wildwood Crest Residents

By Press Release

WILDWOOD CREST – New bins for recycled paper products are now available to residents of the Borough of Wildwood Crest.
Residents can obtain these new paper recycling bins Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wildwood Crest Department of Public Works located at 120 West Newark Avenue.
The yellow-colored rectangular bins, which are 18 inches by 15 inches around the perimeter and 15 inches deep, were acquired at no cost to Wildwood Crest taxpayers. The bins were purchased through a grant awarded to the borough via the State of New Jersey’s recycling program. One paper recycling bin is available per household.
Items that can be placed in these new paper recycling bins include newspapers, office paper, magazines, cardboard, paperback books, telephone books, junk mail, pamphlets and shredded paper. Shredded paper should also be placed in a clear plastic bag or paper bag before being inserted into the bin.
“These new paper recycling bins will make it easier for residents to sort and store their recycled paper products,” said Wildwood Crest Public Works Superintendent Joe Bond. “They’ll also make it easier for our sanitation crews to distinguish and identify paper recycling products.”
The borough anticipates that the new paper recycling bins will save taxpayer money.
“Like all municipalities, the borough has to pay tipping fees for every ton of trash collected,” Bond said. “We believe these new paper recycling bins will make people more apt to recycle all of their paper, which not only will save the borough money, but will also potentially qualify the borough for even more recycling grant money from both the county and the state.”
In addition to the new paper recycling bins, the Borough of Wildwood Crest Department of Public Works has also obtained additional red recycling containers for bottles and cans. These additional red cans were also purchased through a state recycling grant at no cost to Wildwood Crest taxpayers. Residents can also obtain red recycling cans at the Department of Public Works.
The Wildwood Crest Department of Public Works also reminds its residents that the winter trash and recycling collection schedule is scheduled to go in effect on Mon., Oct. 3. For further information about the borough’s trash and recycling collection schedule, log on to the borough web site at www.wildwoodcrest.org or call (609) 522-7446.
