‘Paper Peddler Trivia Night’ Event to Honor Avalon’s Favorite Bookseller

By Press Release

AVALON – Avalon History Center will hold “Paper Peddler Trivia Night” Aug. 11 at 7 p.m.  Attendees will compete to show their mastery of Avalon history and culture in a “Quizzo”-like game, which will feature old photos and Paper Peddler memorabilia.
The Paper Peddler, an iconic local bookstore that closed its doors in 2014, had a tradition of writing an Avalon trivia question on a chalkboard outside the store. Its former regulars will use the Trivia Night event as a sort of reunion.
“We miss the store and our customers. We’re happy to get everyone back together to reminisce!” said Deborah Martinelli, one of the store’s proprietors.
Trivia Night attendees can enjoy food, drink, and good company. “We’re glad to put on the program free of charge, because it’s an interesting way for everyone to learn about Avalon’s history and enjoy the sense of community at the same time,” said Nina Ranalli, History Center Director. Avalon Borough Business Administrator Scott Wahl will act as MC.
Those interested in participating may call the History Center at (609) 967-0090 to reserve a table for a team of up to four people.
Avalon History Center, located at 215 39th St in Avalon, NJ, is a local history museum that displays a collection of objects from Avalon’s past.
