Operating Room Nurse Honored with the Service Excellence Award

COURT HOUSE – Penny Becica Kraus, RN, Operating Room Nurse has been honored with the Service Excellence of the Month Award at Cape Regional Health System for November, 2015.
“Penny is good-hearted and goes out of her way to help her team members. She consistently shows professionalism and support to care for our patients having surgery. Penny supports the departmental needs for Maternity and assumes all duties without question,” stated Roxanne Dunkelberger, RN, Maternal and Newborn Care Services.
“Penny is instrumental in leading committees at Cape Regional as well as in the community. She goes above and beyond every day. She is caring and giving and asks for nothing in return,” stated Jim Madden, RN, Nursing Director for the Operating Room and Same Day Surgery.
“Penny is the driving force behind our annual National Nursing Week celebration, organizing and team building, recruiting speakers for all the workshops, and making sure the Nursing staff feel appreciated and valued,” added Deborah Baehser, MSHA, Vice President of Patient Services.
Penny Becica Kraus has been a team member at Cape Regional Health System since February, 1981. Penny, and her husband Rick, live in Townbank; the couple has five children, 15 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Penny is active in her local parish, St. John Neumann where she serves as a Parish Nurse and with the Auxiliary of the American Legion. She loves to take cruises and travel by motor home with her family.
