Ocean City Resident Wins Sporting Group at 141st Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show

OCEAN CITY — The Irish Setter “Adrian” of Ocean City, New Jersey handled by Adam Bernardin and owned by Sandra Nordstrom, Bruce Foote and Mary Foote, won the Sporting Group at the 141st Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York City on Mon. and Tues., Feb. 13-14, 2017.
Adrian, a 6-year-old male, officially known as GCH Vermilion’s Sea Breeze, bred by Bruce Foote, Mary Foote, Caroline Deslauriers, and Kim Kazee, took top honors in a field of 32 Best of Breed winners comprising the Sporting group. The dog show featured nearly 2,800 dogs, with two days of Best of Breed competition held at Piers 92/94 and Group and Best in Show competitions held at Madison Square Garden.
“Winning a Westminster group is the culmination of years of hard work, training, showing, and breeding,” said Westminster’s Director of Communications Gail Miller Bisher. “Congratulations to the owners, handler and breeders of the Sporting Group winner and advancing to the Best in Show competition.”
The evening group finals, including Best in Show, were televised live on FS1.
