WILEY, MARIE LOUISE, (nee

WILEY, MARIE LOUISE, (nee Silcox) “Babe” 90 – of Stone Harbor, NJ passed away peacefully, early Wednesday, June 7th, 2017. Marie was born to Howard and Kathleen Carroll Silcox on February 27, 1927. She was raised in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia, and attended Our Lady of Lourdes Grammar School and later graduated from Merion Mercy Academy High School in 1945. She married Martin Wiley (Butch) in 1952 and moved to Wilmington, DE, where they raised their only daughter. Marie worked as a secretary shortly after high school, and then during the late 1960’s and 1970’s, she and her husband owned and operated a franchise of Peterson’s Candy and Ice Cream on Concord Pike in the Fairfax section of Wilmington. She was known for her sewing, exceptional needlework, and personalized greeting cards. In 2003 Marie moved to her beloved home in Stone Harbor. She is predeceased by her parents, husband Butch in 1993, sister Eileen Daly and nephew Brian Daly. She is survived by her daughter Mary Denise Arenberg and her husband Eric of Cape May, granddaughter Rebecca Arenberg Haldeman and her husband Noel of Cape May Court House, and her precious great grandson Noel Thomas Haldeman IV. In addition she is survived by her nieces Maureen Cooper, Eileen Killeen, Christine Echelmeier, Patricia Blacker, and nephew James Daly. Her family would also like to extend their thanks to her devoted nurses from Debbie M. Journey Hospice, Kath A. from Visiting Angels, and her caregiver, Ellen, also from the Visiting Angels Agency.
Viewing will be Friday, June 16, 2017 from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Brendan The Navigator Parish, St. Paul’s Church, 9910 3rd Ave., Stone Harbor, NJ 08247. Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Conshohocken, PA on Monday, June 19th. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Cape Regional Medical Center’s Diabetes Education Department, 2 Stone Harbor Blvd., Cape May Court House, NJ 08210. Condolences at www.radzieta.com
