TITHERINGTON, JOHN THURLOW, JR., of Stone Harbor, passed away peacefully on Friday December 15, 2017 at the age of 76. John was born on May 16, 1941 at Germantown Hospital in Philadelphia to the Late John Thurlow Titherington, Sr. and Ethel (Rosborough) Titherington. The family was raised on West Oak Lane in Philadelphia and John attended Olney High School and earned a degree at Temple University. After honorably serving in the United States Air Force, John embarked on a career in the financial industry ultimately retiring from PNC Bank in Stone Harbor, NJ.John was preceded in death by his loving wife; Elaine May (Mair) Titherington, to whom he was married for 35 years. John and Elaine raised their daughter Audrey Ann in Stone Harbor, NJ where they were very involved in the community and shared many wonderful memories with friends and family. John and Elaine attended Avalon United Methodist Church where they were involved in various study groups. Later in life John attended Lighthouse Church in Cape May Court House.John loved golfing with the “EPGASH Guys”, wintering in Marathon Key, and his time with the Stone Harbor Volunteer Fire Department. John was also the proud recipient of the Jack Fitzpatrick Award for his dedication to the Community. John also had a lifelong love of cars and enjoyed hunting, fishing on the family boat, football, running the dogs in the morning at the point, Friday night pizza outings with the neighbors, watching and attending NASCAR races.John is survived by his daughter Audrey Ann Titherington of Cape May Court House and his grandson Gage John Ormrod whom he loved deeply, and affectionately called “Gage Man!” He is also survived by his brother Donald Titherington and his wife Irene of Weddington, NC, 7 nephews and nieces and 19 grand-nephews and nieces.The family would like to thank Steve Ormrod and Stuart Wright for the friendship, support and care that they showed John over the years. They also extend their appreciation to Avalon United Methodist Church for their support and faithfulness.A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday January 6, 2018 at 11 am at Avalon United Methodist Church, 3344 Dune Drive, Avalon, NJ. A graveside service will be held immediately following the Church service at Seaville Methodist Cemetery, 3100 Shore Road Route 9, Marmora, NJ. Friends and family are welcome. BOWERSOCK, ROBERT After a battle with Alzheimer's, on July 22, 2025, Robert Bowersock “Big Bad Bob” passed away peacefully at home on the bay, surrounded by his loving family and graced with a beautiful sunset to end his final Chapter of Life. Bob was born on January 20, 1940.
