SOCKRITER, WILLIAM S., 71, of Colorado Springs, went to be with the Lord on Sunday April 14th, 2013 in Colorado Springs, CO. Born in Cape May, NJ, William was retired from Young Life, a non-denominational Christian ministry that reaches out to adolescents, where he worked for 16 years. He was a loving husband, dedicated father, supportive brother, and committed friend who was active in his church and devoted his life to serving the Lord. He was born January 17, 1942 to William S. Sockriter Sr. and Ethel East Sockriter. He grew up in Cape May, NJ and attended Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA in 1960 and graduated from the Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, CO in 1983. William married Ruth Marion Myers, August 24, 1963 in Cape May, NJ. He and Ruth moved to Colorado Springs, CO in 1980 from New Jersey. Survivors: 1 son, William S. Sockriter, III of Castle Rock, CO, 1 daughter, Faith C. Bone of Phoenix, AZ, 1 brother, Richard Sockriter of Cape May, NJ, 2 sisters, Betty Cordes of Denver, PA and Eugena Newell of Bushnell, FL, grandchildren, Jillian and Micaela Bone of Phoenix, AZ and Samuel, Zane and Zoe Sockriter of Castle Rock, CO, Sarah Ramsey and Stevie Wise of Denver and 3 great grandchildren of Denver. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Ruth, his parents, brothers Joe, Earl, Walt, and Harold Sockriter and sister Barbara Sockriter. Contributions may be made to Young Life, 420 N. BOWERSOCK, ROBERT After a battle with Alzheimer's, on July 22, 2025, Robert Bowersock “Big Bad Bob” passed away peacefully at home on the bay, surrounded by his loving family and graced with a beautiful sunset to end his final Chapter of Life. Bob was born on January 20, 1940.
