ROATS, DOROTHY B. “DOTTIE”, age 74, of West Cape May passed away Monday, December 9, 2013. Dottie was born and raised in Westville, NJ. She was formerly from Burlington, NJ before moving to the Cape May area in 1987. Dottie was a secretary for DuPont in Deptford, NJ and for Oyster Bay in Cape May. She was an avid supporter of the Animal Outreach of Cape May County and an active member of the Attapax Club of Woodbury, NJ in her earlier years. Dottie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially at the beach. She is survived by her husband of 46 years Harry Roats; her daughter Valerie (Robert) Ulrich of Somerset, NJ; and her two grandsons: Carl & Eric. Also surviving are her niece Susan Lauderman of Cape May and her nephew Carl Zeller of Rutledge, VT. There will be no services at this time. However, a celebration of life in her memory will be announced in the Spring. BEAN, MICHAEL J. It is with great sadness, the family of Capt. Michael J. Bean announces his sudden passing on Tuesday, August 19th at Cooper Regional Medical Center, Cape May Court House. Born November 8, 1944, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William and Katherine Bean.
