PERKINS, SUSAN PARKER, 60

PERKINS, SUSAN PARKER, 60, of Cape May, New Jersey formerly of North Huntingdon, Pa. passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 30, 2018. She was born in Irwin, Pa. on February 22, 1958. She was preceded in death by her father Jack Perkins (July 13, 1990), her mother Bessie Ann Karanovich Perkins (April 15, 2018), and her brother Jeffrey (Christmas 2000). Susan is survived by her son Christopher Swan, sister Kimberly Perkins, her long-time companion Paul Neville and her beloved Dachshund Martin.Susan first came to the Cape May area as a young child on family vacations. She was homecoming queen of Norwin Senior High School in North Huntingdon, Pa. her senior year of 1976 and soon after that, settled in Cape May permanently. She worked in the tourism industry as everything from a waitress on up the scale. She would ride her bike to and from work or down by the ocean as this was her peaceful and quiet time. She loved to read anything and everything from John Grisham to Socrates. She loved history as well. Christopher and her would often sit and talk about both topics for hours. She also loved to bake and garden. She always enjoyed life to the fullest extent.A Memorial Service and luncheon will be held on Friday, August 10th at 11am at the Lighthouse Church in Cape May Court House. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the Spina Bifida Association in her name (www.spinabifidaassociation.org).
